Le transport AleksVan s'est déroulé à merveille. Tous mes effets personnels étaient bien rangés dans le camion, avec des ceintures de sécurité et des housses de protection. We chose AleksVan because of the reviews and thought we had found a trustworthy company. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case.

It had been agreed that two to three people would be provided at the pickup, as no one could help with lifting. The company sent us two people, one of whom was over 70 years old and, by his own account, was no longer able to lift. Furthermore, the two had not been informed about the quantity of furniture that had been contractually agreed upon in advance, nor that there was no elevator. It is apparently common practice for them to accept the job and then not meet the conditions.

After the two men drove off with their van—without telling us how things would proceed—we called the company. During the call, AleksVan admitted that he had “forgotten” that we couldn’t help carry anything, because (direct quote): “the order had been given some time ago.” Only after another call from us were we informed that another moving team would come at noon to pick up our belongings. Due to being overweight, these also turned out to be heavily physically limited men. So again they were unable to carry the items. We had to ask family members to help, otherwise the move could not have taken place at all. In other words, the service was not provided as agreed, and the burden was shifted onto us.

After the van was loaded, we were assured that this driver would go to the unloading location. However, during unloading it became clear that both the van and the driver had been changed, meaning that our furniture had been transferred to another vehicle without our consent or even notifying us. Upon unloading, we discovered that several items had been damaged—for example, a solid wood table and an expensive lamp. We reported this to AleksVan on the same day.

In general, we constantly had to reach out ourselves; whenever AleksVan said they would get back to us, they never did. Overall, the company’s behavior was highly unprofessional. At some point, AleksVan asked what we had in mind, and we proposed a 10% reduction in the contract price.

Our message was met with mockery, and the damage to our belongings was downplayed and belittled. The company repeatedly falsly claimed that our items had not been properly packed, without providing any evidence. We had photos documenting the proper packaging for international transfer.

We repeatedly pointed out the situation on moving day, the fact that contractual conditions had not been fulfilled, and that significant damage had occurred. In return, we were met with obvious lies used as excuses and gaslighting.
One of AleksVan’s preferred explanations was that everything had only been necessary because the first driver had fallen ill. As if a 70-year-old had suddenly “woken up sick” on the morning of the move. Given his condition, this driver had likely not lifted anything in ten years—not because of a spontaneous cold but because of his age. The driver himself stated that he was hired only to drive, not to lift. Still, the situation was portrayed as if the other drivers and the reloading had been unavoidable due to a spontaneous illness. The resulting damage from the reloading was then supposedly unavoidable therefore.
When we pointed this out, AleksVan simply chose a different untruth as an excuse. In general, the system seems to be: throw out an excuse, disappear for three days, then offer a new excuse.

Another frequently used excuse was that we hadn’t packed well. When we sent photos, they said the issue was that there was no elevator. When we then sent a screenshot of the agreement confirming that there was no elevator, they claimed the damage had been reported too late. After sending the screenshot showing the same-day report at the day of delivery, they again said the driver had been “sick.” The irrationality is systematic—you just go in circles and no responsibility is accepted.

AleksVan appears to be based in London, while the drivers are all Eastern European (Polish/Hungarian). Getting hold of anyone responsible is nearly impossible. AnyVan takes a huge chunk of the money only for referral and accepts no responsibility as well.

We strongly advise against using this provider.

Amazing service from Alek and his team. They were prompt, efficient and extremely polite and courteous to deal with. Our sofa was picked up by them when they said it would be and
arrived in Amsterdam precisely on time. Lucas the driver kept us informed on the progress of the journey which was very much
appreciated.
