About Me
Whilst damage is an extremely rare occurrence (check out my feedback) could all potential customers please note that I have a £250 excess on my GIT policy so the first £250 of any claim for damages will not be paid. I would recommend that you take out some insurance of your own (or check your house insurance policy to see if cover applies whilst goods are in transit) to cover this shortfall if it is a concern. I carry out same-day delivery of documents, parcels, pallets, furniture and motorcycles. We also carry out household, student, office and commercial removals. We blanket wrap and secure all furniture and fragile items. I have10 years experience as a 7.5 tonne multi-drop driver for a national parcel and pallet carrier with 7 months experience as their branch Traffic Manager. 3 years experience driving 26 tonne LGV with de-mountable fork truck. 1 year driving local engineering company's 7.5 tonne lorry. Over 25 years of experience helping my father-in-law in his local removal business.

- | Conservatory- 3x3m structure and already dismantled., Cheltenham to Blackburn | Qsibanda 17/05/2015 |
Mr John Wood (Wood1403) of Wood1403 (118) replied: After suffering a mechanical failure (radiator burst on my Luton van) on Monday morning I thought that the (flexible listing) could still be carried out on Sunday 16th May of which I informed the client however, after the repairers received the wrong radiator in the first instance and due to their existing workload the van would not be completed until PM Monday 18/05/15. I then informed the client that I would then carry out the job as a matter of urgency on Tuesday 19/05/15 but that if this was unacceptable that perhaps they should cancel the job and book another carrier. This was when the threatening texts began of legal action and compensation to the fitter (I have all messages for inspection by any party) to which I eventually replied “I can’t deliver with no van, see you in court.” During our communications I find out that the delivery is not straightforward and that all items have to be carried through a terraced house which was not mentioned in the listing. Also that the sellers agent (Rich) informed me that the conservatory is actually 4m x 3m not 3m x 3m as stated which makes the listing incorrect and therefore null and void anyway as there are more of, and larger sections to be transported which have not been accounted for in the quote. The sellers agent (Rich) further stated that the buyer was expecting the floor and dwarf walls with the conservatory which he assured me was not the case and that the client had stated that they would require planning permission for the larger size. With that in mind I fail to see how a fitter was ready to install said conservatory without the floor and required walls having been built and had time to set. This job was bid on and accepted before my mechanical breakdown so it is unreasonable for the customer to ask “so why did he accept the job in the first, why did he respond to the job promising me a prompt service, especially when I stressed the urgency for the delivery right from the start?” Well that’s easy to answer: the intent was always to deliver to the time-scale agreed however, my crystal-ball obviously wasn’t working meaning I didn’t for see the radiator failing before it actually happened on Monday morning on my way to carry out my job for the day! Be assured that I will defend any legal action against me regarding this matter vigorously and that I have transcripts of all communications involved in this matter. Furthermore due to the clients continued unreasonable response to a very frustrating (and costly) series of unfortunate events I am cancelling the job forthwith. |
